Infection season - patient information

Translations:

Taxonomy: News

sezon infekcyjny

If you have cold symptoms such as runny nose, cough, fever, sore throat, headache, muscle pain, we encourage you to use telemedicine (Telephone Medical Advice, chat with a doctor, telephone advice by appointment):

  • during the teleconsultation, the doctor will determine your treatment, may issue an e-prescription, an e-referral for diagnostic tests and, if your condition requires it, will issue a sick leave.

If you need a face to face appointment to consult the symptoms of a respiratory infection, make an appointment at Medicover Express the same or next day:

  • depending on the symptoms present and your health condition, your doctor will prescribe a rapid test* for influenza, COVID-19, streptococcal tonsillitis or other infections and recommend appropriate treatment.

*The doctor may prescribe the rapid test both during a teleconsultation and during an in-patient visit, choosing the type of test according to the patient's symptoms and clinical condition; the test may be chargeable, depending on the scope of the patient's medical package.

Important – please note:

  • You can book a teleconsultation or a face to face appointment at Medicover Express in the Medicover OnLine app (please select "Internist - flu, cold" in the search engine).
  • Medicover Express appointments are dedicated to patients with symptoms of respiratory tract infections – this is where the medical staff is provided with personal protective equipment, and the work of doctors is supported by nurses who perform the diagnostic tests on the spot, if necessary.
  • By separating visits by patients with symptoms of infection from those with other problems, we prevent the spread of infections.
